Chemical Polish for Copper
Copper polish solution is a chemical polishing solution used for copper, brass and other copper alloys to give a lustrous finishing. The process removes a minimal amount of copper; thus, the dimensions of the work processed are less affected.
COPPER POLISH II CHEMICAL POLISH FOR COPPER AND COPPER BASED ALLOYS
Description
COPPER POLISH II is a liquid which consists of a blend of organic and inorganic acids.
COPPER POLISH II is used for the chemical polishing of copper, brass, nickel, silver and other copper alloys. Long immersion times (up to 30 or 40 minutes) are possible with COPPER POLISH II without etching of the work.
COPPER POLISH II, unlike many other proprietary chemical polishes, removes only a minimal amount of metal. This means less effect on the dimensions of the work processed, a longer life for the solution and less of an effluent problem, since there will be less drag-out of copper and other metals into subsequent rinses.
Equipment
COPPER POLISH II should be contained in a tank constructed of mild steel lined with unplasticised PVC, or alternatively of glass, polythene or stainless steel (FMB grade stainless).
Heating coils should be constructed of FMB quality stainless steel. Baskets and racks should be of FMB quality stainless steel or plastisol-coated mild steel.
Fume extraction is required, except in cases where COPPER POLISH II is used at ambient temperature with a low workload.
